That's a great example of how difficult this stuff is to use, and how somehow it gets more difficult as they add additional features.
ChatGPT can use code if you tell it to, but you need to both know that's possible and have at least a rough idea of what kind of things code solutions can handle.
Anthropic added ffmpeg to the default container environment based on my feedback (OK based on me hassling them on Twitter) yesterday which means you can now use Claude for manipulating video files too.
The AI companies need to coach people on when to ask models to use features that exist.
A friend recently spent AGES with ChatGPT getting it to sort his wedding invitations A-Z. It just couldn’t do it.
Told him to ask it to write code to do it,
Hours to minutes. Totally solved his problem.
We techies are failing the masses by not shouting about the difference between probabilistic and deterministic uses of AI.

The probabilistic / deterministic divide is one our kids will be born understanding.
Ask for code when you need to know the outcome; roll the dice with an LLM when you need to deal with the messy real world.. not everything needs AI.
But, if we can give our own generation that realization, that’s a win.

Ubuntu 24.04.2 with a kernel version 4.4.0 looks very strange to me. Why choose such an old kernel?
An article about a confusingly named feature. The article has a confusing title. How about: "A Review of Claude's new Code Interpreter Feature" ?
