I'm surprised Meta hasn't decided to remove human moderators from the equation entirely. For Marketplace, they at least used to be happy with automated moderation that mostly removed false positives, and now they don't seem to care about much. I report scammers on Facebook, we have reviewed your report and found it wasn't a violation. Hate speech, we have reviewed your report and found it wasn't a violation. Animal abuse, that's what Facebook Shorts was made for! Account that was hacked and is now spamming porn, we have reviewed your report and found it wasn't a violation.

Are they keeping these people involved simply out of cruelty? The gruesome examples they give seem like they could be automatically detected with no drop in moderation quality. Normally I wouldn't advocate for taking away jobs, but this is awful.
