One of my favorite things about all the awesome castles in France is their super awesome gardens like this. I only have a couple examples online, but:

As if it wasn't cool enough to explore all the amazing castles themselves, their properties are usually basically works of art. I have to wonder how it would be to live in a residence like that for one's life. Super cool.

There’s a YouTube channel detailing someone who did exactly that - bought a French castle.

Apparently it’s both cheaper than you’d expect and way more annoying, too.

It’s not “standard house” prices but I suspect anyone who can afford the more expensive parts of the world could afford something similar, if smaller.

But it’s a ton of work even if you have the money.

Oh totally (thanks for the link!), there's also a TV series "Escape to the Chateau" about this, and a followup series "Escape to the Chateau DIY" where the protagonists of the earlier series help others get set up in their new cheateaux :)

30 years work of one man

blink, blink, it's not a render!, blink

there is a school of philosophy that proposes the idea that humans primary purpose is as landscape architects, which this man work lends credence to

Interesting. Where can one read more about this?

That's what I expect from upcoming Oblivion remaster. Very lovely!
